Is Microsoft Edge the same as Internet Explorer? This also goes to say that other iterations like Internet Explorer for Mac is no longer available. Unfortunately, Microsoft cut off support for the classic browser in mid-2022. It also offers improved speed and performance, as well as better compliance with web standards and new technologies. The new Performance Advisor add-on identifies add-ons that are slowing the browser down. It also lets you ‘pin’ websites to the Superbar and allows you to bookmark your favorite websites as ‘applications’ in your OS. Since development finished in 2005, Internet Explorer for Mac doesn't offer even the most basic features that you would consider a prerequisite on any browser nowadays like tabs, extensions, saved sessions or private data management.Among the new features included in Internet Explorer download are better integration with the Windows operating system and a seriously beefed-up security system. Internet Explorer for Mac is incredibly slow, buggy, prone to crashes and freezing and is woefully short of security settings. We couldn't even render the Softonic website in it and indeed, most websites failed to load properly. However, for normal internet browsing we'd really discourage you from using it. However, if you really can't help yourself and are an Internet Explorer nostalgic, you might want to try it for a trip down memory lane.
